Waikato River Independent Scoping Study Project
Overview
The Waikato River Independent Scoping Study aims to determine priority actions to restore and protect the health and well-being of the Waikato River for future generations. It will provide a sound and objective basis on which to determine a comprehensive clean-up programme for the Waikato River over the next 30 years.
The Study has been commissioned by the Ministry for the Environment, and is governed by the Guardians Establishment Committee (www.river.org.nz). The project is being delivered by a team led by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA). The project statement (below) provides an overview of the Study and the people who are working to deliver it. Nimmo-Bell is leading the economic analysis.
